Making music with other people is an essential part of any musicians development, regardless of instrument or discipline. Despite this truth, there are a variety of factors that can make it difficult for people to connect and find opportunities to collaborate.
The Collective Music Workshop provides an opportunity for young musicians of any background or musical style to explore ways of making music together in a casual, yet structured environment. Over the course of the 2-week class students will compose original works, improvise, and arrange music for the instrumentation of the group of registrants. Along the way they will learn key lessons in music theory, orchestration, ear training, ensemble playing, and many other essential skills for creative musicianship.
Join the collective, discover your creativity.

Yes! This is an updated version of Wyatt’s previous summer workshop, the Young Improvisers Collective.
Where YIC focused more on music theory/harmony/improvisation skills, this new workshop puts more emphasis on repertoire building, allowing for a more diverse range of skill levels in improvisation.
We will still discuss aspects of music theory, improvisation, and ear training, but in a more practical and immediate way.
